Based on the activities of the College of Engineering, the Riyada Initiative Program, which is advised by Prime Minister of Iraq Muhammad Al-Sudani, aims to provide job opportunities for students and graduates in a working environment through training.
Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Laith Shakir Rasheed Al-Qarawee, and under the supervision of the Head of the Prosthetic and Orthotics Engineering Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Muslim Mohsen Ali, the prosthetic laboratory received another patient who has a below-knee amputation caused by an accident and problems with the prosthetic limb, as he suffers from pain in the limb. Because of platinum, it is one of the obstacles to the patient’s use of the prosthetic limb, causing him foot pain.
The laboratory staff, under the supervision of Mr.Hussein Abd Zaid a technician staff in the department, showed the students how to take a mold of the patient and the necessary measurements to make an ideal prosthetic limb. It is part of the efforts of the College of Engineering and the University of Karbala to actively contribute to community service work through Training students to interact with real cases and using high-quality limbs, and the real goal is to encourage students to engage in volunteer work to serve the community.
